Port Douglas events

The Hekili Great Barrier Reef Ocean Challenge is Australia’s biggest and newest downwind iron ocean race finishing in Port Douglas. This Port Douglas event is held as part of the Cairns Airport Adventure Festival, which features 10 days filled with adventure activities.

The Hekili Great Barrier Reef Ocean Challenge is a 40km downwind surf leg along the stunning Tropical North Queensland coastline, heading north to Port Douglas. This race is considering one of the most gruelling on the outrigging calendar, with participants being tested against the elements and some of Australia’s best outrigger and ski paddlers in a race where just finishing is an achievement. Cheer on the finishers at Four Mile Beach Port Douglas, amongst competitors finishing the Coral Coast Triathlon and RRR Mountain Bike Challenge.
